North Londoner Lucy Taylor – aka Pawws – is a classically-trained singer-songwriter who makes lush synthpop reminiscent of The Eurythmics and Tears for Fears. Having toured as keyboardist for Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke’s solo band and performed with MGMT, Taylor then went solo, releasing her debut EP, Sugar, in June 2014.

Having trained as a classical music graduate, she saw the rigidity of the performance aspect of the course was a key factor in severely knocked her confidence. Touring as part of Okereke’s band after she finished university gave Taylor the experience she needed to feel comfortable enough to release her own stuff. She really saw this experience as key factor in getting to the point she's at now, and gaining confidence in her own ability and allowing her to experience the music industry in a way that she felt her music degree hadn't taught her about,

With a few headline solo shows under her belt and a festival tour in 2014, she’s ready to put together her debut album, tipped for a 2015 release, “I need to be strict and concentrate on 12 songs. I want everything to link aesthetically.” So we have that to look forward to! She says that she misses proper pop music that tells stories and wants to go back to an 80s aesthetic! I'm very excited to hear what she has to offer.
